rewatched sonic 3 last night, still gets me gripping my plushie's hand entire length. have some studies and doodles I forgot to include in the last art dump
#get yourself a partner that looks at you the same way this hedgehog looks at his sister#the movie redraws might not seem to have anything interesting in them at first but in fact i was blending the colors manually#like. going all around the color circle just to figure out how to blend colors myself without picking them from the screencaps lol#my favourite art activity#and i wasnt using any blending/soft brush tools#every. single. strand. of. fur. drawn. manually.#it felt like drawing an entire rendered picture with just dots. not very sane of me#i also messed around with ear positions because i swear they made them too stiff and expressionless#... or i like making them over-expressive. oh well#sonic#sonic 3#shadow the hedgehog#maria robotnik#intrigued by his fur having blue highlights in the movie#also im pretty sure both sonic and shadow have the ear tufts there??#that one posts only highlights shadows tufts but now i noticed sonics fur also forming ones so idk now#now onto checking polish dubbing again because i have no idea whether the 'ultimate lifeform' line drops there or not anymore#i was convinced they didnt call shadow an ultimate lifeform at all in the movie because i couldnt recall hearing it

Quick lighting practice
#doodles#sunday doodles#ralsei#deltarune#ya' duck's gettung better at drawing those ram horns i give him#starting to understand how the form wraps a little better#i do all of these colored sunday doodles in ibis paint#it has a feature that lets you remove the background of a lineart drawing and just keep the black lines#which makes it super easy to color whatever i scribble once service is over#downside is most of its brushes arent very similar to what i use in clip studio so i have NO idea how to match my normal coloring style#thats what makes it a fun challenge though#i think im getting the hang of the app#really not bad for a free app tbh; its got *most* of the super important tools#i abuse the blending tool on csp though so not having it in ibis paint means i gotta get creative haha#y'all have fun knawing at what context this expression would occur in with this lighting#i just like red lighting :3

#fma#fullmetal alchemist#edward elric#fma fanart#procreate#yes the arm is both incorrect and on the wrong side this was not supposed to be a fma piece it just manifested as such by the end#i didn't have a reference while drawing this i just begun with a random face and because i decided to do a mech arm halfway through it#seemed appropriate to commit even just a bit even if i was too tired at that point to do over things to make it accurate or coherent#i was sketching while watching fangs of fortune because i've learned that the trick to keep drawing is to do something else at the same tim#so you have less time to think about how much you hate what you're doing and how much you want to start over#zhao yuanzhou expresses open desire to die like every episode it's relatable#for the first part of this i was multitasking but once i got over the beginning i was locked in listening to the same song for 8h on loop#there's still something fundamentally wrong with the proportions of the face and the hands and i should learn to use sharp edges#so the result isn't monotonous and blurry but that would mean i would have to learn to use a new brush :/#maybe i should learn how to use the blend tool. after all these years#my art
